Artist Note

"I discovered this little Cedar Tree on a walk on the Olympic Coast. It had been shaped by the sea wind. It seemed to say something to me of being vulnerable, humble and resilient. Eugene Peterson wrote, "Humility is our daily armor." When I remember Who I belong to, how great He is and how small I am, then I am not so easily offended or hurt by the "powerful" or "noticed" of the world. Instead, I can stand in that Love (the waterfall) knowing I can't handle it all and that's a wonderful thing. Humility is a great strength because it takes the burden off of self and lets us rest in the power of God's love."
