Pennington brings his beautiful tree sculptures into a 2 dimensional surface. The ‘Circle Tree’ prints are re-imagined images of Pennington’s copper wire sculptures, which are photographed and run through an extensive digital creative process.
"Much of the subject matter in my work is influenced by nature and spirituality as I view them interrelated. I frequently pull inspiration from the Texas hill country where the landscape is unforgiving at times and arid. In contrast within this struggle for resources, you also will see large healthy old oak trees. Our current landscape provides a base for my work and our purpose in life. I often reference a point in the future where there is a possibility of non-existence, which gives me the ability to work backwards and creatively document what is in front of us.” - Shane Pennington
