Artist Note

The Moss series draws its inspiration from the traditional Japanese rock gardens, often referred to as "zen stone gardens." These gardens aimed to capture the essence of nature rather than its precise visual representation, serving as a tool for meditation and contemplation, guiding one towards a deeper understanding of existence. Through the gradual layering of subtle pigment washes in oblong shapes and stains, the Moss series amalgamates forms that elicit a feeling of tranquility and an illusion of still, contemplative motion.
