Artist Note
After years of admiring dancers, and finding language in their graceful movement, the artist uses pulsating red and blue forms to create organic suggestions of the figure as it moves through time and space. Reminiscent of the sensual forms created by French painter Henri Matisse, Tapers' body of work invites the viewer to step out of the singularity of visual perspective and into the possibilities that come beyond sight. Some works include her own created language alluding to the usage of braille, letting a viewer touch and feel the visual language.
