Besides being destitute of ideas, the amount of work that is required to color each string to the exact color that Hong desires is one of the most difficult parts of creation. Like a potter who breaks his pottery if disliked, Hong discards all the strings and starts from the beginning until he finds the perfect color. Even though this is the most difficult process, Hong finds the greatest joy when each string finds its perfect color as desired and when each layer of strings is placed in specific order to create an image.
