Dream Landscapes

"I was inspired by Swan Lake and the movie Black Swan by Darren Aronofsky. In Swan Lake, a single ballerina plays both the White Swan and the Black Swan, two characters with completely opposite traits.I was especially struck by the moment when the ballerina transforms from the White Swan into the Black Swan. The White Swan must reach into her alter ego, the Black Swan, and the same is true for the Black Swan. Through this piece, I wanted to explore potential and possibility. Ultimately, the work is about the moment of self-transformation and the infinite possibilities of the self.

Each cube in the piece represents an element. I tried to capture the moment when a phenomenon manifests as these elements come together and disperse. It symbolizes the destruction of the norm, transformation, inner change, and the moment of rebirth.
